National Urban League Young Professionals Launch Join Week and National Day of Voter Empowerment
New York, NY – National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) local chapters will host their biannual Join Week events at chapters across the country October 25 – November 2, 2013. With events including a National Day of Voter Empowerment (11/2/13), networking mixers, social media campaigns, a chapter membership recruitment video contest, and a NULYP #WeGotNow webinar for future members (10/30/13), NULYP will let young professionals across the country know how to get involved in the movement.
President of the National Urban League Young Professionals, Brandi Richard explains, “We’re excited about this week’s activities and look forward to meeting other young professionals with talent, drive and compassion who are interested in joining this movement and making a difference in their communities.”
The week of events will also include free tours and tasting events at Join Week sponsor Anheiser Busch, breweries in NULYP chapter cities including Denver, Jacksonville, Sacramento and Boston. Other events include:
• Empowerment Lounge Networking Events: local politicians, candidates, and organization leaders will be present.
• World Series Watch Parties
• New Member Orientation: Information on the activities and initiatives of NULYP chapters.
• Tweet-Ups at #WeGotNow and #JoinNULYP
• Open Houses at Urban League affiliate offices
• Service Projects including hosting safe and fun Halloween events for children at Head Start locations
